Stephen Ministry equips lay people to provide confidential, one-on-one emotional and spiritual Christian care (listening, caring, praying, supporting, and encouraging) to individuals in our church and community who are experiencing difficulties in their lives.  The ministry is named after the martyr Stephen, who was one of the first lay people commissioned by the apostles to perform acts of caring ministry.  A Stephen minister will “be there” for his or her care receiver, meeting faithfully for about an hour each week, for as long as there is a need.  While maintaining strict confidentiality, Stephen ministers are closely supervised in their ministry.  If you or someone you know may be in need of a Stephen minister, contact the church office.
