FEEDING THE FIREMEN MINISTRY

From 1997 to the present day, St. Columb’s church membership has fed those serving at Ridgeland Fire Station #2 on Ridgeland Avenue next to Holmes Community College for both Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Sign up sheets are put out 3 weeks ahead of the holiday and prepared food and other items left in the church kitchen for pickup and delivery on the holiday by other church members. The festive meals are enjoyed by the firefighters as they never know when they will be called out to help others on those days.
