IONA House
Begun by a group of St. Columb’s parishioners in 1986 in response to the Bishop’s request that the Episcopal Church reach out to hungry neighbors, IONA House currently provides groceries for 35 – 40 families every week. Open only on Fridays, IONA House served over 5,200 people in the inner city of Jackson in the year 2000. Volunteers are needed each Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Donations of food and money are always needed.
