Youth Program

EYC

EYC is open to all children in grades six through twelve. We meet every Sunday, and we do all kinds of fun things! This past year St. Columb’s EYC teamed up with the kids from St. Philip’s, and together we have had a great time. We had two Guitar Hero Tournaments, three paintball wars, and ate enough pizza to feed a small army. We’ve also played games, watched movies, made beautiful art, did our best to make our own movie, and provided a thousand dollars worth of toys to Blair E. Batson Children’s hospital last Christmas. This year we hope to have an even better time than we did last year. We’ll continue with the paintball wars, Guitar Hero Tournaments, and all the other fun things that make EYC the place to be after church on Sunday.

Pre-YC

Pre-YC is open to all children four through eleven, and meets every Wednesday from six to seven in the evening. Last year was our first year to have Pre-YC, and we had a great time learning about the church throughout history. We made gargoyles, stained glass windows, and shields; we sang some songs, played some games, and ended the year with a medieval feast. We celebrated the 12th day of Christmas with a Masquerade, and Mardi Gras with a costume parade. We even had the local chapter of the Society for Creative Anachronism come and demonstrate sword fighting techniques of the middle ages. All in all, it was a great year. This year we will be learning about churches of the world, so be sure to keep Wednesdays open!
